1. Describe yourself in 2 words?

Athletic and hard working.

2. How do you stay healthy and fit with your busy schedule?

When I retired from basketball, I didn't retire from the passion for sports that lives within me. As a child, I tried golf, swimming, jogging, skiing, cycling and I enjoyed all of them. I’ve now started to establish new goals such as the Cape Epic mountain bike race and other iron man goals. I train as many hours as is necessary to meet those goals. I believe you shouldn't follow strict regimes. Keep it simple. Just eat healthy - fruit, vegetables, salads and natural products.

3. How would you define fitness?

In my opinion, it is a healthy way of living.

4. What was the greatest challenge you faced at Real Madrid?

I don't recall facing any specific challenge in particular. Probably training was the most difficult part.

5. What was your best moment at Real Madrid?

I remember really well the first game I played. It was really special and full of emotions and great feelings.

6. Have you been to the UAE?

I haven’t had the pleasure to visit yet, so I look forward to doing some sightseeing - as much as possible - and of course to learning about the culture.

7. What song best describes your work ethic?

Guardame un sitio (Jose Maria Granados) and I´ve got a feeling, because my career at Real Madrid was full of amusing memories and feelings.

8. What is your favourite Kobe moment?

Obviously, when he scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors.

9. What is your secret weapon on the basketball court?

My speed

10. What is your number one workout tip?

To be constant and follow your goals. Also, having self discipline is quite important.

11. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you like to have with you?

Just one, a boat to come back!

12. If you were to select 2 celebrities to be your parents, who would they be and why?

Who told you my parents aren’t celebrities?

13. What advice would you give to kids about achieving their goals?

To be self-confident, fight for what you think is right and have a spirit of sacrifice.

14. If you could pick one highlight of your career, what would it be?

Every single moment was amazing

Work hard and you will gain everything.
